Adapterkabel RG316DS

Product information "Adapterkabel RG316DS"

Adapter cable RG 316DS (RG 316D) PTFE coaxial cable according to your requirements.

Many of the small entry level SDR's like SDRPlay, Airspy, Airspay HF+ etc. as well as the high quality Winradio, Elad FDM-S1 and FDM-S2 etc. have as external antenna connector a SMA socket. If you now want to use an external antenna or a distributor with N connector, you need an adapter. Since the standard adapters SMA to N are very large or much too massive for the respective receiver, the SMA socket on the receiver suffers and it comes after a short time to contact difficulties or even break the SMA socket. In the worst case, the even SMA socket in the receiver must even be replaced.

You can connect the adapter cable, for example, directly to the SMA socket of the receiver. The offered lengths of this adapter cable we have chosen from practical experience. Other lengths we can of course make individually, according to your wishes. If you need other lengths or connectors, just contact us.

Information about the RG316DS PTFE coaxial cable
The RG316DS is a 29mm diameter double shielded PTFE coaxial cable with 50 ohm impedance. The RG316DS is double shielded with two superimposed silver plated copper braid, has a much thicker inner conductor and a huge temperature range from -75 to +200deg. It is a very flexible coaxial cable, with good attenuation characteristics and a shielding of 70dB. We have described the serious differences between good coaxial cables and RG58U in an article in detail, with many real examples: to the article.

You will immediately notice the higher weight of the connectors used. The PTFE dielectric ensures lowest insertion loss and a smooth frequency response.

Also for this adapter cable we use a special heat shrink tubing with hot melt adhesive for the assembly. The heat shrink tubing with hot melt adhesive serves both to seal the joints of the plug and sleeve and at the same time as kink protection.

The shielding is what counts
Some OM's use the thin RG 178 or RG 316 Chinese cables, which have a small diameter and are therefore very flexible. Unfortunately such cables have only a very low shielding of partly less than 25dB. But especially on the last meters you should have the highest shielding! Why? The house is teeming with potential interferers such as switching power supplies, LEDs, induction stove, etc.. Also the PC and the monitor are usually in direct proximity and can have unsightly influences. If it should be nevertheless a very thin coaxial cable, we offer the adapter cables from the flexible RG316DS PTFE coaxial cable, which has with 70dB the a good shielding. This greatly minimizes interference already on the way into the receiver.

Important! Please note:
Total length of the cable: cable cut +/- 3% + connector.
